Futures and Change

Welcome to the Futures and Change Community of Practice! If you are interested in understanding how current and future trends impact the role of continuing higher education, then Futures and Change is the right place for you.

The mission of the Futures and Change Community of Practice is to actively scan "global economic, social, and political trends to assess their impact on - and chart future directions for - higher continuing education."

Each year we plan a provocative program at the UPCEA Annual Conference on topics related to change. In the last two years, we focused on highly participative case studies about organizational change. In addition, each year we also recognize a UPCEA member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in continuing higher education.

The Futures and Change Community of Practice is in its formative stages and quite open to new ideas about directions and programming. Members of this community are concerned with:

• Environmental Scanning
• Higher education restructuring
• Interfacing with the global education economy
• Inter-institutional cooperation
