Quality Assurance

The Quality Assurance Community of Practice is a network of continuing education practitioners dedicated to helping each other define, identify and develop benchmarks to assure excellence in continuing education programs.

The Quality Assurance Community of Practice:

  • Provides a national network of peers concerned about benchmarking programmatic and administrative issues pertinent to well-run continuing education units.

  • Addresses issues of program evaluation.

  • Helps members prepare for accreditation and unit reviews.

  • Assists members with establishing means to assess prior learning.

  • Promotes discussion of faculty development issues.

Members of Quality Assurance can select from the following ways to participate in the activities of the Community of Practice:

  • Join a listserv discussion of best practices.

  • Attend or develop sessions at the Annual Conference and regional meetings devoted to key issues in quality assurance.

  • Conduct research aimed at developing best practices and quality standards for continuing higher education.

  • Review quality assurance guidelines of relevance to continuing higher education.

  • Develop common standards and assessment measures for continuing education.

  • Promote the inclusion of continuing education and distance learning experts on accreditation review teams.

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team.
