Summer, Weekend and Off-Campus Programs

With classroom space at a premium at most campuses during the daytime hours during the traditional school year, directors and deans of summer, weekend and off-campus programs can make a significant difference in the budget by thinking creatively about time, space and outside relationships. Not only does this thinking outside the box increase the revenue for the campus but also provides a service to the student population who are unable to attend college during the day at the home campus due to other obligations.

This CoP is designed to assist you in capitalizing on the resources of your college/university and taking those entrepreneurial ideas in a direction that will prove to meet the needs of the non-traditional student as well as of the administration. Members of this community are concerned with:

  • Polices and practices relevant to summer, weekend, intersession, and off-campus programming, as well as non-credit and certificate programs
  • Identification of issues and concerns shaping the future of these program areas
  • Greater dissemination of information to further programming goals within these areas
