Global Associates

Global Associates is a knowledge network of the Association dedicated to identifying global higher education and training needs, fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and keeping its members abreast of developments in international education.

The colleges and universities in the the Global Associates membership are located in the United states as well as other countries around the world. These institutions attract a great many international students and deliver educational programming all over the world. Examples range from short-term technical certificates and highly fovused, custom training programs for business to fully online degree programs; from study abroad and English as a Second Language (ESL) to executive development.

In order to fulfill its mission to facilitate its members' international education goals, the Global Associates host three major annual events. Participation in these events is included in the membership fee for two representatives from each Global Associates member institution. These events are:

• The International Opportunities Development Trip, in which Global Associates members meet with university and business leaders, government officials, and funding organizations in host countries. A different geographic region is selected each year for this visit.
  

• The Washington Briefing, which draws on the resources of the Nation's Capital for presentations and discussions with academics, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and other experts on the region that the Global Associates have chosen for the annual Opportunities Development Trip.
  

• The Annual Symposium, held in conjunction with the Association's Annual Conference, focuses on important issues and best practices in international education.

Global Associates receive a quarterly electronic newsletter with the latest in international higher education news, legislative developments, funding opportunities, and links to online articles and resources.
