Essential Duties: Supervise and coordinate marketing efforts across the various units of the Outreach School. Maintain graphic standards and consistency of branding. Supervise the development of and help develop promotional items, class schedules, brochures, posters, and other materials as needed. Manage, coordinate and lead Outreach School development program including work with the Outreach School development board. Coordinate the development efforts of the various units of the Outreach School. Develop and write fund raising and marketing materials, including gift/grant proposals and/or program literature. Identify prospective donors, solicit gifts, and engage in stewardship activities. Help maintain prospect records. Direct support of the Outreach School Dean's office. Serve on University wide committees as appropriate such as those relating to marketing and development. Coordinate and monitor the Outreach School Web pages. Support web site maintenance.
Knowledge of: Marketing, public relations, professional fund raising, and/or sales. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of desktop publishing and other software programs (e.g., PageMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of with HTML, webpage design, and website maintenance. The preparation and presentation of case statements. Personnel supervision. Basic and routine records maintenance. Basic and routine scheduling and administrative support. Basic and routine office management principles and practices. Basic and routine budgeting. Familiarity with higher education structure and operating procedures, including right to privacy policies.
Skills and Abilities to: Demonstrated ability in a marketing and development program in higher education; a capital campaign; or solicitation of gifts. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong editing skills. Commitment to working in a team-oriented environment. High degree of proficiency with computers and computer programs, including a demonstrated ability to use a variety of software programs (noted above) and design and maintain webpages. Train others, work effectively in a collaborative environment, and take a leadership role in core job areas. Supervise personnel and manage a budget. Ability and willingness to travel.

The Director of Continuing Education reports directly to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education, and works in close collaboration with faculty, staff, and external vendors, leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of all aspects of non-credit programming. Responsibilities:
- Lead campus-wide efforts in identifying, planning, developing, marketing, delivering and evaluating the impact of programming that address outreach needs and opportunities among regional constituencies and their communities.
- Manage, and mentor when appropriate, academic and classified staff, part-time and seasonal employees, and student workers supportive of all aspects of non-credit programming.
- Oversee all budgeting, direct effective cost recovery delivery, as well as engage in and foster entrepreneurial approaches to non-credit programming.
- Direct the development, implementation, and oversight of all policies, assuring compliance with federal, state, UW System and campus guidelines and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the strategic leadership of the campus and the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a master’s degree, preferably with a focus in adult learning, community education, or related fields.
- Minimum of three years experience in the development, delivery, management, and evaluation of self-supporting programs and events.
- Evidence of providing strategic direction and leadership, with strong entrepreneurial tendencies.
- Proactive with proven ability to build relationships, cultivate internal and external partnerships, and engage in effective decision-making.
- Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to equal opportunity, affirmative action and diversity.
- Demonstrated record of managerial, budgetary, organizational, administrative and interpersonal prowess.
- Evidence of strong attention to detail, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.

Associate Dean, Graduate Liberal Studies Program
Georgetown University
The School of Continuing Studies at Georgetown University invites applications and nominations for a dynamic and innovative leader to become the next Associate Dean of the Graduate Liberal Studies Program. The Associate Dean will oversee the Graduate Liberal Studies Program including the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS), encompassing 14 curricular fields of study, and the Doctor of Liberal Studies (DLS), the first degree of its type in the United States and Canada. The MALS and DLS programs currently serve more than 450 students, and embody some of the greatest traditions of Georgetown’s Jesuit heritage. The Graduate Liberal Studies Program is interdisciplinary in nature and has an academic focus on human values, a reliance on critical thinking and logical reasoning, and draws upon faculty from around the University. The Associate Dean will be expected to maintain and support the longstanding traditions of these degree programs, while developing new ways to connect them to the University and metropolitan communities.
The Associate Dean will report to the Dean of the School of Continuing Studies and is viewed as the chief academic and administrative officer for the Graduate Liberal Studies Program. The Associate Dean will be responsible for producing quality results in all areas of academic leadership, curriculum development, academic advising, program review and assessment, student mentoring, budget management, and for building relationships with University deans, faculty, and other key academic leaders.
The successful candidate for this position will have an earned doctorate in a discipline represented in one of the curricular fields of study offered by the Graduate Liberal Studies Program, and a sustained record of academic accomplishment. Demonstrated success in academic leadership within graduate level degree programs, interdisciplinary curriculum development, program assessment and financial/budget management are highly desired. This position is full-time, year-round, and requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as an academic leader at an accredited institution of higher education, preferably at the level of Assistant Dean or higher.

Assistant Dean of Non-Credit Programs, School of Continuing Studies

The Assistant Dean provides senior leadership for the development, delivery and management of Non-Credit Programs, specifically, Corporate Education, Professional Development programs, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and CFP programs. The incumbent has primary administrative responsibilities for collaborating and cooperating with the schools and the college who partner with SCS in assuring quality programs and instruction. The recruitment of faculty to teach students for existing and new programs is also a primary responsibility of the Assistant Dean.
The Assistant Dean works with the Director of Marketing & Communications to develop a recruitment strategy for the programs and is responsible for creating an annual Non-Credit Programming and fiscal plan for submission to the Dean.
Principal accountabilities include:
- Providing leadership and management on a daily basis for planning, scheduling, delivery and maintenance of Non-Credit Program activity, including advising the development of new business in Non-Credit Programming;
- Interacting with academic leadership and faculty of Northwestern University to identify new non-credit markets while maintaining excellence in courses and programs and to sustain quality instruction in all educational activity;
- Developing curriculum for new programs, in consultation with Dean of the School of Continuing Studies and Associate Dean of Academics;
- Collaborating with the Director of Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), Director of Corporate Education and Director of CFP Programs to develop and implement ideas for improving business processes, and increasing program revenues and margins;
- Enhancing customer relationship management by developing systems to improve customer service and increase student recruitment and retention;
- Working with registration and other units within SCS on new systems to improve student and faculty services;
- Conducting market research, analyzing programming efforts of other schools and preparing reports of programming information to determine viability of current or new programming for SCS;
- Collaborating with Registration on delivery and analysis of enrollment trends;
- Assisting Assistant Dean of External Affairs in revenue and expense forecasting;
- Performing budget reconciliation with the Assistant Dean of Finance & Administration;
- Managing academic calendar for Professional Development programs;
- Organizing the support staff structure and delegating duties and providing general supervision of staff;
- Formally recommending hiring, promotion and termination of departmental exempt and non-exempt staff;
- Performing other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum qualifications include:
- A PhD or the equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired;
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in higher education environment;
- Ability to complete academic planning for adult student population;
- Strong technical skills;
- Capability to think, act and lead strategically;
- Ability to take initiative;
- Appreciation of need to achieve high customer satisfaction (student and faculty);
- Strive for excellence with work processes and outcomes;

The American University in Cairo (AUC), founded in 1919, is incorporated in the State of Delaware, operates in Cairo, Egypt and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The University's primary mission is to advance the ideals of liberal arts and professional education and of life-long learning to students from all segments of Egyptian society as well as from other countries. Programs are offered at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Construction of a new state-of-the-art campus on a 260-acre tract in the outskirts of Cairo is now nearing completion and will enable the University to accommodate up to 6500 degree-seeking students.

Utilizing a full-time staff of approximately 100 and several hundred part-time instructors, the School of Continuing Education (SCE) currently serves approximately 45,000 adult, part-time learners at the University's downtown campus and at several external centers and venues. SCE extends the resources of the university into the community by providing high quality educational opportunities for learners of all ages to enrich their lives and enhance their professional qualifications. At present, SCE's programs include Arabic and translation studies, business studies, computer and information technology studies, English language studies, youth and special studies, and a series of certificates in professional education.
Based at AUC's Tahrir Square Campus in central Cairo, the Dean, under the direction of the Vice President for Continuing Education, will have the principal responsibility for providing leadership for the SCE's instructional and educational support, strategic planning, and marketing and communication. AUC at Tahrir Square affords the opportunity to design programming opportunities over the course of an instructional day for clients beginning in the morning and continuing into the late evening. The Dean will also be expected to oversee the administration of SCE's fiscal policy and human resources.
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a terminal degree, substantial background in continuing education, and at least ten years' experience in higher education administration. Skills in management, planning, and budgeting are essential. Other necessary qualifications are demonstrated leadership capacity with excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of constituencies including faculty and staff, and external business, government, and community based organizations is important. Work experience in the Middle East is helpful but not required.
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience. The initial appointment will be for a three year term, renewable thereafter by mutual agreement.
