Building Futures, Changing Lives conference logo

April 11-14, 2007
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Vancouver skylineUCEA's 92nd Annual Conference, "Building Futures: Changing Lives", will be held April 11-14, 2007, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The conference will focus on the many changes being fostered by technology and globalization that affect the communities that we serve. The conference will provide continuing education professionals with an opportunity to define new roles for themselves, their units, and their institutions.

Continuing higher education is one of the fastest growing segments of education in North America. In a decade of great change, individuals and organizations are turning to us in ever increasing numbers to build their futures and change their lives. Our community is being called upon to educate diverse audiences to solve new problems in a society that is being reshaped by technological, economic, and social changes that are both global and local.

How do we continue to redefine the role of continuing higher education in this changing environment? The 2007 UCEA Conference in Vancouver will explore ways in which continuing educators can best keep pace with changing workforce demands, develop global citizens who thrive in the international arena, and foster a strong and civil society. Our flexibility and responsiveness and our ability to bridge institutional boundaries add great value to our academic institutions and our communities-creating unique opportunities and challenges as we work to build futures and change lives.

Our conference location is an exciting one! Vancouver is a dynamic, multicultural city set in a spectacular natural environment. Majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage year round make Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With quick and easy access to Whistler Resort, the Canadian Rockies, Victoria, Vancouver Island, and of course, endless water and land sports throughout the year, plus museums and theaters, you can find it all here!

The UCEA Annual Conference is continuing higher education's premier opportunity to network with colleagues while gaining new perspectives and insights into the challenges facing us both today and tomorrow. We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver!
