John Twomey
Director, New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals

John Twomey is the Director of the New York Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP), New York’s Workforce Association, and one of America’s foremost leaders on workforce development. John is the immediate past president of the National Workforce Association, and currently serves as the President of USAWorks! John is a frequent plenary speaker at workforce conferences and has testified before Congress on ways to better prepare the country’s workers.



Patricia Malone
Director of Corporate Training and Education, Stony Book University

Patricia Malone is the Director of Corporate Training and Education and the Center for Emerging Technologies in the Office of the Vice President for Economic Development at Stony Book University. She serves on the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board and Education and Training Committee, the Town of Brookhaven Workforce Board, and has participated in numerous Business Services Team meetings and forums regarding regional agendas in training and job creation. Malone has conducted numerous presentations nationally and internationally on the universities role in workforce and economic development, regional collaborations, the role of the research university in green collar jobs, and corporate training and most recently on the workforce needs emerging from the coming of the Smart Grid.  She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and a Masters degree from Stony Brook University.

 

Rita Martinez-Purson
Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services, University of New Mexico

Rita Martinez-Purson is the Dean of Continuing Education and Community Services at the University of New Mexico.  She administers a Division that serves more than 35,000 students annually through customized training programs, professional development, and personal enrichment offerings. She presently serves on the Boards of the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA), and the Learning Resources Network (LERN). She also co-founded PACE New Mexico – the state’s Continuing Education Association.  She holds a B.A. with Honors in Anthropology and Sociology, an M.A. in Public Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration. 

 

Sherry TenClay
Senior Program Manager, University of New Mexico

Sherry TenClay is the Senior Program Manager for Business and Technology Programs at the University of New Mexico, Division of Continuing Education. The Business and Technology (B&T) team develops approximately 1,000 classes each year including 85 certificate and certification programs which meet or exceed industry standards and provide direct pipelines to employment. Sherry represents UNM Continuing Education on the Workforce Board of Central New Mexico (WCCNM), serves as the Bernalillo County representative on the WCCNM Executive Board, and chairs the Workforce Boards Training Provider Committee.   

 

Alice Tom
California State University-Sacramento

Alice Tom is Dean of the College of Continuing Education at California State University-Sacramento.  She joined CSUS in 1993 as the associate dean of CCE and implemented the successful development and expansion of the CSUS off campus professional education effort.  During her tenure as Dean, Tom directed the construction of Napa Hall, a 35,000 square foot continuing education administration and class room center.  Tom earned her bachelor of sciences degree in agricultural economics and her bachelors of arts degree in mass communication studies at the University of California, Davis. She completed her masters of sciences degree in communication studies at CSUS and will complete her doctoral work in 2011.

 

Jenni Helfrich
Special Assistant to the Dean, College of Continuing Education, California State University-Sacramento

Jenni Helfrich is the Special Assistant to the Dean, College of Continuing Education, California State University-Sacramento.  Previously the Director of Extension Programs, where she was responsible for business development, statewide collaborations, and corporate training; she is currently in charge of strategic planning, marketing and communication planning, and working with the employer community to provide relevant programs for working professionals and mid career adults.  She received her B.A. in Communication from Arizona State University, an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Sacramento State.
